Water treatment plant: technical container setup for water treatment

For this project, we built a technical water treatment plant consisting of multiple technical containers that together form a fully-fledged water treatment system. The containers serve as protective and functional enclosures for process equipment and enable rapid, controlled, and modular deployment.

This project is a clear example of technical containers in their purest form, designed for process and installation engineering.

Technical containers as process enclosures

The water treatment plant consists of:

  • multiple technical containers
  • connected to external process components such as tanks, pipes, and steel structures
  • placed on concrete foundations

The containers house essential components of the water treatment process and protect them from weather conditions and external stress.

Integration with external installations

Process piping, steel structures, and storage tanks are integrated around and above the containers. This configuration demonstrates how containers function perfectly as:

  • the technical core of a facility
  • a link between different process steps
  • maintenance-friendly access to installations

Together with the external infrastructure, the containers form a single, cohesive technical system.

Access and Maintenance

The technical containers are equipped with:

  • technical access doors
  • inspection and service access
  • clear safety and warning signage

This enables safe maintenance, inspection, and operation, even during prolonged or continuous operation of the system.

Robust and industrial design

The containers feature a neutral industrial finish, suitable for technical and industrial environments. The steel structure offers:

  • high mechanical strength
  • protection against weather conditions
  • long service life when installed outdoors

This robustness is essential for technical installations in harsh conditions.

Modular and scalable concept

A key advantage of this water treatment plant is its modular design. The technical containers:

  • can be installed or replaced individually
  • allow for expansion or modification of the system
  • enable transport and repositioning

This ensures flexibility in capacity and future-proof scalability.

Suitable for real technical applications

This container setup is designed for real technical processes, such as:

  • water treatment
  • process and wastewater treatment
  • industrial water management systems
  • temporary or permanent technical installations

This is explicitly not a converted living container, but a technical installation container.

Rapid installation and controlled execution

Thanks to the use of technical containers, the installation could be:

  • be prefabricated
  • be quickly installed on-site
  • be efficiently connected to external process components

This reduces on-site construction time and increases the reliability of the installation.

Customization by DS Units

DS Units was also responsible for the entire process in this project: from engineering and container integration to the installation of a turnkey technical water treatment plant in containers, fully tailored to the process, safety, and maintenance.

Features of this project:

  • Technical water treatment plant
  • Composed of multiple technical containers
  • Integration with external tanks and piping
  • Robust industrial design
  • Modular and scalable
  • Suitable for permanent technical processes
