For this project, we created a modular office expansion consisting of repurposed shipping containers installed on top of an existing building. By stacking the containers and integrating them onto the roof, we created a fully functional additional office space without requiring major modifications to the existing building.

This solution demonstrates how shipping containers can be used for vertical expansion of office space, with minimal impact and maximum flexibility.

Office expansion without traditional new construction

The shipping containers were strategically placed on the roof of an existing building. This allowed for the creation of additional space:

• without taking up additional land
• without traditional construction methods
• with limited construction site impact

This makes the solution particularly suitable for sites where expansion at ground level is not possible.

Two-story container configuration

The office expansion consists of stacked shipping containers, resulting in:

Large glass sections for light and views

The shipping containers are equipped with large windows and sliding doors, which provide:

Thanks to the glass panels, the container structure feels light and transparent, despite its industrial character.

Terrace as an extension of the office space

A rooftop terrace was added to the container arrangement, directly accessible from the office space. This terrace:

• enhances work comfort
• provides space for breaks or informal meetings
• enhances the experience of working at height

The terrace is an integral part of the overall concept.

Functional conversion into office space

The shipping containers were completely converted into office space in-house, with a focus on:

• comfort and ergonomics
• daylight and ventilation

The conversion is functional and user-oriented, without complex technical process installations.

Modular, relocatable, and future-proof

Like all converted shipping containers, this office expansion is:
