For this project, we created a modular office building constructed from repurposed shipping containers and integrated into an existing building. By combining containers with a staircase and a spacious terrace, we created a functional and architecturally appealing office environment that is completely separate from the existing structure yet perfectly integrated into the space.

This solution demonstrates how shipping containers can be used not only externally but also within existing buildings as a fully-fledged office solution.

Office structure within an existing building

The shipping containers are placed within the shell of an existing building, thereby:

• creating additional office space without expanding the building
• existing spaces are utilized to the fullest
• a clear “building-within-a-building” solution

The container structure remains visually distinct and forms a strong architectural element within the space.

Two-story structure with internal and external circulation

The office building consists of:

• office spaces on the ground floor within the containers
• an upper outdoor space (terrace)
• a fixed staircase connecting both levels

The staircase and balustrades ensure safe and clear circulation, while the terrace adds an extra usable layer to the office.

Terrace as an extension of the workspace

The integrated terrace atop the container structure serves as:

• a break area
• informal meeting area
• a relaxation spot within the work environment

This enhances the comfort and quality of the workplace, especially within an industrial or large hall environment.

Light, transparency, and openness

The shipping containers feature large glass panels, which provide:

• plenty of natural light
• a visual connection between inside and outside
• an open and pleasant office experience

Despite the enclosed container structure, the whole space feels light and transparent.

Functional conversion into office space

The containers were completely converted into office spaces in-house, with a focus on:

• ergonomics and comfort
• logical layout
• daylight and ventilation

This is a functional, non-technical conversion designed for daily office use.

As with all converted shipping container solutions, this office building is also:
