For this project, we created the Antoon Care Unit: a modular care unit installed in the garden and designed to combine comfortable in-home care with privacy, tranquility, and independence. This care unit offers a people-centered solution for those who need care, close to family but in their own living environment.

Independent living with care nearby

The Antoon Care Unit was conceived as a separate living unit, detached from but located near the main residence. This allows for independent living while ensuring that support and care are always nearby.

This solution is ideal for:

• care for the elderly
• temporary care situations
• family members in need of care

Compact and well-thought-out design

The care unit features a clean, compact layout with a practical design tailored to daily use and accessibility. Everything is designed with a focus on comfort, clarity, and safety.

The separate entrance enhances the resident’s sense of autonomy and privacy.

Warm wood finish and homey appearance

The Antoon care unit is finished with vertical wood siding, creating a warm, natural, and homey atmosphere. As a result, the unit does not feel clinical or temporary, but rather like a fully-fledged living space that blends beautifully into the garden.

The clean lines and understated design create a timeless whole.

Balance of light and privacy

The window openings are carefully positioned to:

• let in plenty of natural light
• limit visibility from the outside
• ensure peace and privacy
